Active protection nets are various types of flexible nets, mainly wire rope nets, that are wrapped around the slope or rock to be protected in order to limit weathering, peeling or damage to the rock soil on the slope and rock collapse (reinforcement effect), or to control the movement of falling rocks within a certain range (enclosure effect).
It has high flexibility, high protection strength and easy spreading. It can adapt to any slope terrain and the installation procedure is standardized and systematic.
The main parameters of active slope protection nets include wire rope nets, wire rope anchors, support ropes, suture ropes and wire grating nets.
Wire rope nets: This is the core part of the active slope protection net, which is used to cover the slope or rock to limit the weathering, peeling or damage of the rock soil on the slope, as well as the collapse of dangerous rocks. Wire rope anchors: Used to fix the wire rope net and enhance the stability of the protection net. Support ropes: Including transverse support ropes and longitudinal support ropes, used to support and fix the wire rope net to prevent it from moving or deforming. Suture ropes: Used to sew the various parts of the wire rope net together to increase the overall firmness and stability. Wire grating net: As an auxiliary part of the protection net, it is used to enhance the protection effect, especially when small pieces of falling rocks or soil slopes are selected. Specific to the model and configuration, for example, the GPS2 active protection net is one of the most commonly used products in the active slope protection system. It mainly plays a role in enclosing the mountain or slope, limiting the range of falling rocks, and is suitable for places where small stones slide. The GPS2 active protection net adopts DO/08/300 wire rope net and SO/2.2/50*50 wire grid, equipped with 2Φ16 system wire rope anchor rods +Φ16 transverse support ropes +Φ12 longitudinal support ropes, and Φ8 suture ropes. These configurations jointly achieve the main protection functions of slope reinforcement, suppression of collapse and weathering and peeling, and limitation of the movement range of local or small amounts of falling rocks12.
In addition, the active slope protection net adopts a modular installation method. This design not only shortens the construction period and construction costs, but also facilitates the handling and installation of materials. Its high-strength lightweight steel structure system and open mesh structure are conducive to the drainage of groundwater, while maintaining the original vegetation growth conditions of the slope and reducing visual interference.
